A unique look for a ’60s icon
Introduced in 1950, the Volkswagen Type 2 is considered the forerunner of today’s cargo and passenger vans. However, it’s most famously associated with the counterculture movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s, who nicknamed the Type 2 the “hippie-mobile,” the “hippie bus” and the “hippie van.” Today, the vehicle remains popular with custom builders like the Mooneyes company, who often add performance parts like chrome exhaust systems to this cult favorite. This limited edition kit features metal wheel caps and “Moon Equipped” markings.
